This fix was successfully applied to the retail disc version of the game, on a windows 10 machine, on the 10\/05\/2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First try running it in compatiblity mode:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Right click on the shortcut or executable<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select \u201cTroubleshoot Compatibility\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Select \u201cTry recommended settings\u201d. This will probably apply a windows XP service pack compatibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Click \u201cTest the program\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. If that fails, close the troubleshooter window and try the next fix.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The Stupid Invaders 2000\/XP Patch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go here:\u00a0https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/StupidInvaders2000xpPatch<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. On the right hand side under download options, click on \u201cWINDOWS EXECUTABLE\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Open and run the downlaoded executable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Select \u201cPATCH!\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Wait for the confirmation message, then close the patch window<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Launch the game<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
